"In the Future Everybody Will be Famous for Fifteen Minutes"
"In the future everybody will be famous for fifteen minutes"- Andy Warhol.
An artistic study of the contrast between how easily ''fame'' can be achieved in the 21st Century to some of the most undeserving, non-talanted people who physically crave fame, in comparison to the musical talent that came from the last Century, particularily the '60s and '70s, and ironically in most cases these iconic musicians did not care for fame and with many of these their famous status lead to their demise. . .
What I have decided to begin with labourious, time consuming drawings of my 10 most favourite musicians, as I believe they deserve the time and effort my technique of drawings requires, and I decided to base it solely on musicians after researching the '27 Club' and realised that all of the musicians catagorised in this group were some of my favourite, iconic, most talanted musicians. Kurt Cobain completely influenced the generation I grew up in, my grandad and dad are both musicians and influenced my taste in music growing up, so while everyone else was listening to what was in the charts when they were younger I had been introduced to and singing along to Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, as well as loving and following the generations 'phenomenons'- The Spice Girls, Boyzone, All Saints, 5ive, S-Club Seven, etc. My interest and love for these groups was completely avant-garde and fizzled out in time whereas I still admire and love the music of those who I call the greats; Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, The Doors, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Rory Gallagher, Queen, Jimi Hendrix and more contemporary artists such as Nirvana and Bob Marley.
